Last years CSL MVP Daniel Nascimento had his best performance of the 2009 campaign. Nascimento opened the scoring by dribbling two Roma players before slotting the ball by the goalie. Nascimento then added his second of the game with a picture perfect chip over the St. Catherines keeper to make it 2-0. Cam Medwin made it 3-0 after he intercepted the ball and beat the keeper to his left.
The Lions created numerous chances throughout the game, and it was the efforts of St. Catherines keeper Claudio Perri who kept the scoreline close. Lions keeper Kevin Doyle preserved the shoutout with two key saves when the score was 2-0 in their favour which could of change the momentum of the game.
This win vaulted the Brampton Lions into second place in the National Division. The Lions return to action this Friday at Centennial Stadium where they face last year champions the Serbian White Eagles. Kick off is set for 8pm.
