CSL EXPECTS LITTLE DISRUPTION RESULTING FROM CITY OF TORONTO STRIKE - two weekend games relocated

No disruption in near term due to closing of three stadiums

Three stadiums used by the Canadian Soccer League will remain closed during the City of Toronto outside workers strike which began on Monday, June 22. These are Centennial Stadium, Lamport Stadium and Esther Shiner, but while some relocation of games is necessary, disruption of the games is not expected in the immediate future.


Two games due to be played this weekend have been relocated:

Sat. June 27 Esther Shiner 3 pm North York Astros vs. Toronto Croatia will now be played:
Sat June 27 Downsview Park 3 pm North York Astros vs. Toronto Croatia

Sun June 28 Lamport Stadium 3 pm TFC Academy vs. Brampton Lions will now be played:
Sat June 27 Downsview Park 5.30 pm TFC Academy vs. Brampton Lions

Arrangements are now underway to relocate the following game should the strike continue into next week:

Friday July 3 Lamport Stadium 8 pm Portugal FC vs. TFC Academy

No further games in the CSL are affected until July 10, 11, 12.
